Solaray's liposomal vitamin C is derived from Ascorbyl Palmitate (esterified vitamin C), which is a fat-soluble form of vitamin C. This means it is soluble in fats. As our cell membranes are made of fats, this allows for optimal absorption of vitamin C into our tissues, where it can then deliver its full activity and effectiveness.
In addition to its beneficial effect on fatigue, liposomal vitamin C has the distinctive feature of possessing powerful antioxidant properties. It thus helps protect the body's tissues against oxidative stress.
Solaray has used a biotechnological process by combining ascorbyl palmitate (which is an ester of ascorbic acid) and palmitic acid, giving vitamin C a fat-soluble form.
